All In All

Now available worldwide.

“My debut solo album, All In All, marks a new stylistic journey for me into a part of my songwriting that I would call more intentional and personal. Over the past few years I have come to realize the importance of the messages and feelings I choose to convey with my music. This album was an attempt to balance my love for levity and wordplay with a desire to write more from my heart. I hope I was able to accomplish that. Musically, I am deeply grateful to have had some of the best collaborators I could have asked for on this record. They are the ones who really made it sound the way it does, and I am blessed to know each one of them. I hope you enjoy the tunes, and I look forward to sharing more music and good times with you soon.” -Zac Francis

Lyrics

  • We’ve each got a light inside if we choose to let it shine

Play it right and we can light our way through the darkest times

‘cause one could never, but many together can surely make the climb

Come on, can’t leave no one behind

So shine, shine on brother it’s high time

Shine, shine on sister it’ll be alright in time

Sometimes the darkest days happen just before the dawn

So come on people and shine on

Just ‘cause it’s called the human race, it don’t mean we need to compete

I would rather run as one, light work when there are many feet

‘cause victory which divides you and me is just another name for defeat

But when we’re one for all, even if we fall it’ll still taste just as sweet

So shine, shine on brother it’s high time

Shine, shine on sister it’ll be alright in time

Sometimes the darkest days happen just before the dawn

So come on people and shine on

You know I know that sometimes people, we can all use a friend

God gave us all two hands so that we would have one to lend

And last I checked I got two ears, so if you need one to bend

Just give me a call and it’ll be alright in the end

It’s so easy to forget that life don’t last too long

Never know just when you’ll get to the last verse of your song

So it’s dealer’s choice, just lift up your voice, there’s no way to sing it wrong

If we come together people, and shine on

So shine, shine on brother it’s high time

Shine, shine on sister it’ll be alright in time

Sometimes the darkest days happen just before the dawn

So come on people and shine on

Come together people and shine on

  • Narrow are the ways of pride

    Humility is deep and wide

The only one who can decide is you

    Life’s a dirge or life’s a dance

You hold the cards right in your hands

The choice is up to you

The world may tell you not to budge

To double down and hold that grudge

If you point first then no one can judge you

So you can soar way up where your spirit flies

Or stay chained down to the world’s lies

The choice is up to you

And the world keeps pushin’ from one side

As you’re pulled from the heavens up above

It’s at that axis point of life

That you can access the point of life

    And it’s love, love, love

This bright idea that you know best

Will get more dim with each of life’s tests

You won’t know until your quest is through

    The world’s a stage, or it’s a cage

There’s only one pen that can fill your page

The choice is up to you

And the world keeps pushin’ from one side

As you’re pulled by the heavens up above

It’s at that axis point of life

That you can access the point of life

    And it’s love, love, love

  • Forgiveness, oh forgiveness

I swear it gives this earth its twirl

    Like the axis of Abraxas

It breaks the latches of this world

If you feel hurt, then you can heal hurt

    With its gentle, warm embrace

    Because forgiveness has the power

To let love shower you with its grace

And I know deep in my heart, Lord

Just as surely as I live

    By the stars above

    If we crave love, love

    We can’t forget this

    Make it our business

    To forgive

    Forgiveness is a fortress

The mighty portress of heaven’s door

Takes no measure of our fitness

The loving witness to what we are

And I know deep in my heart, Lord

Just as surely as I live

    By the stars above

    If we crave love, love

    We can’t forget this

    Make it our business

    To rebuild some bridges

    And forgive

  • We could sit here all night blaming circumstance

We could blame a lot of things for what went wrong

Break it down, try to analyze our romance

But we’d be sitting here all night long

And I haven’t slept in so long

Perhaps it would be best just to sing a song

Perhaps it would be best just to sing a song

‘Cause, we’d be busy counting sheep

If you’d close your eyes and go to sleep, oh yeah …

    And goodnight, sweet Marlene

    May you have sweet dreams

May they be as beautiful as you

    And goodnight, sweet Marlene

    May you have sweet dreams

And may every one come true

We could stay up half the night weighing pros and cons

But I think we’d need a bigger scale

Try and mend each other's hearts until the break of dawn

But we both know it’s bound to fail

Perhaps it would be best just to tell a tale

Perhaps it would be best to tell a goodnight tale

‘Cause we’d be busy catching “Zs”

If we'd drop this game of “you, not me,” oh yeah…

    And goodnight, sweet Marlene

    May you have sweet dreams

May they be as beautiful as you

    And goodnight, sweet Marlene

    May you have sweet dreams

And may every one come true

  • You stick to your guns and I hold my ground

And we huff and we puff ‘til it all falls down

And when it finally does, if there’s no one around,

Does the straw that we gnaw really make a sound?

You can chew on it but it won’t fill your head

You can stare at it ‘til your eyes turn red

But nothing will be done after all is said

Despite the size of the lies with which you make your bed

    Crying: “Hey! Oh, dear defender

Would you trade your letter of law

    To embrace that sweet surrender?

Or is your proof of the truth only made of straw?”

It breaks my back and it makes me sick

How could anybody sleep with a head that thick?

If I only had a brain you could take your pick

And we could throw it all away, but we need the bricks

    Crying: “Hay! Oh, dear defender

Would you trade your letter of law

    To embrace that sweet surrender?

Or is the sod that you trod only made of straw?”

So stick to your guns and I hold my ground

And we’ll huff and we’ll puff ‘til it all falls down

And when it finally does, if there’s no one around,

Does the straw that we gnaw really make a sound?

    Crying: “Hey! Oh, dear defender

Would you trade your letter of law

    To embrace complete surrender?

Or is your proof of the truth only made of straw?”

So tune up your fiddle and rosin up your bow

And get us all a-goin’ to a tune we know

We’ll dance all night and we’ll call it a draw

And I’ll take my time and you can keep your straw

  • Down life’s lonesome roads I had wandered

On that endless highway I thought I’d roam

Then in a flash I was struck by your wonder

You showed me your heart and I found my home

And from that moment on I’ve craved nothing more

Than your wind ‘neath my wings wherever I soar

    Your love sets me free

    Won’t let me be

    Any less than

    The best I can be

    Your love liberates my soul

    It won’t let it go

Yet it gives me the key

    Your love sets me free

I had never been to the ocean

I had only seen little streams of love

I dreamed that it was just an emotion

‘Til you came along and you woke me up

I’ve never known a heart like yours

I’ve never known a love so pure

    Your love sets me free

    Won’t let me be

    Any less than

    The best I can be

    Your love liberates my soul

    It won’t let it go

Yet it gives me the key

    Your love sets me free

    Your love sets me free

    Won’t let me be

    Any less than

    The best I can be

    Your love liberates my soul

    It won’t let it go

Yet it gives me the key

    Your love sets me free

Yeah, your love sets me free

  • I’m on the outside looking out

I’m on the inside looking in

    Gotta find the real me,

    But where do I begin?

In the silence of my soul

I keep on searching for the way back home

And in the mirror of that stillness

It becomes clear that it’s only this:

Love, love, love all the way

Love, love, love here to stay

Love, love, love all the time

And it’s love that you must find

    I’ve been searching but I can’t find

A brighter future with a clouded mind

Still, in the blackness of my night

With one eye open I can see the light

And it’s love, love, love all the way

Love, love, love here to stay

Love, love, love all the time

And it’s love that you must find

One day you will reach your home

One day and it won’t be long

    Welcomed in with open arms

And lifted up to where you belong

    And you belong

In the silence of my soul

Where I keep on searching for the way back home

Keep on searching for the way back home

Keep on searching for the way back

    home

  • Joy is simple and joy is sweet

It’s to give up your pain that’s so hard

But if you lose yourself in the river of life

You won’t have to go too far

To find that joy is who you are

So stand up in awe, you’re the all-in-all

And you don’t help nobody by pretending you’re small

So shout it out as you stand up tall and dissolve

    Into the all-in-all

Give up what’s heavy, and go towards the light

Go towards the might of your soul

Give up your burden, just don’t give up the fight

And one day you’ll reach your goal

    One day you will behold

Stand up in awe, you’re the all-in-all

And you don’t serve nobody by pretending you’re small

So shout it out as you stand up tall and dissolve

    Into the all-in-all

Life is short, sweet, and to the point

So let’s make a point to keep on

‘Cause the time that we have’s just long enough for a laugh

If we lighten up, it brightens the world

And the light will lead us home

So stand up in awe, you’re the all-in-all

And you don’t help nobody by pretending you’re small

So shout it out as you stand up tall and dissolve

    Into the all-in-all

  • You’ve been mourning noon and night

You’ve been hiding from the light

With solemn tongue you say “that’s right,

The way to love’s a bitter fight”

    But drop that tired eulogy,

That ain’t the way it’s gotta be

‘Cause you’re a son of the unknown,

Out of that mystic light you’ve grown

Born with the strength to return home

Don’t let you fear usurp that throne

    Every moment is a choice

    Rejoice

‘Cause the road to love is not a funeral

Yeah, the road to love is something beautiful

And as your eyes begin to blur

Lamenting what you thought you were

    Did the thought ever occur

That what you are is so much more?

Let what’s gone bury what’s gone

    And move on

‘Cause the road to love is not a funeral

The road to love is something beautiful

You’ve been immersed in hatred’s curse

But now it’s time to ditch that hearse

‘Cause the road to love is not a funeral

    Love’s no epitaph

    There’s nothing in your path

    It’s all within your grasp

Let the past bury the past

‘Cause the road to love is not a funeral

The road to love is something beautiful

Your sorrow scourged, all your grief purged,

Let’s make a dance out of your dirge

Because the road to love is something beautiful

  • Some days as the world turns

It seems to turn on you

Every lady and dude wanna cop a ‘tude

And there’s nothing you can do

But just when you’re at wit’s end

And your patience reached its peak

You can learn, learn, learn, learn

    To turn the other cheek

    It’s easy to forget

    That it’s easy to forgive

So long as you don’t let

Your pride tell you how to live

Keep this in mind or you’ll never find

    The happiness you seek:

You gotta learn, learn, learn, learn, learn

    To turn the other cheek

It’s hard to keep your cool

    When people act unkind

But an “eye for an eye”

Just makes the whole world blind

So you can fight fire with fire

‘til no one can stand the heat

Or you can do what few can

And let your ego take a back seat

You can steer your ride with a paddle of pride

‘til you’re stuck straight up the creek

Or you can learn, learn, learn, learn

    To turn the other cheek

It’s hard to keep your cool

    When people act unkind

But an “eye for an eye”

Just makes the whole world blind

    Now I’m not asking you

To act like no dang fool

Or to go around letting others

    Take advantage of you

But keep your cool, ‘cause life’s a school,

And your homework for the week

Is to learn, learn, learn, learn

    To turn the other cheek
